In ancient times, tribes would gather at specific times of the year to
celebrate various aspects of the planting year. In autumn, the harvest
was gathered, and celebrated, and shared. In spring, a new planting
year and the promise of new life after the perils of winter were rejoiced.
Not only would all the peoples of an area or tribe gather, but different
tribes and peoples would gather to share cultures, and renewed
friendship for the next planting cycle.
Burning woman may be different things to each participant, but we invite
you to join us as we sweep out the remains of the last year, return to our
more tribal roots, and gather to celebrate the waxing new year. We will
gather our chaff to construct an ancient image reminiscent of the fertility
goddesses of yore, and share with you the warmth of resulting pyre.
So, join us on the Vernal Equinox, in a primitive setting, as divergent
groups share their cultural, historical and spiritual diversity. Bring the
fire in your heart, or your hands, to the blaze we welcome you to share.
